My idea of justice no longer involves merely punishing those responsible for my daughter’s death. My hope is in the One who can truly restore EVERYTHING that has been lost to murder, including the shattered lives of those who perpetrated that violence in the first place. The horrific experience of losing Lexi B and walking through the judicial process has deepened my understanding of that same grace granted to me. I can now grasp with certainty what Christ’s day in court means for me and all who would believe. Christ’s court day and ultimate punishment solidified grace for all who would believe—grace includes the murderer.
